The month of April has been set aside as Parkinson Awareness month. The Fredericton Chapter of Parkinson Society Maritime Region holds a breakfast fundraiser one Saturday each April called "Porridge for Parkinson's" at Christ Church (Parish) Church located on the corner of Westmorland and Charlotte Streets.

Parkinson's disease is a debilitating and progressive disease, which does not play favorites in the categories of age, profession, or gender. It is estimated that 100,000 Canadians suffer from Parkinson's, and some of them are your neighbors, your friends or someone you may sit beside in Church, at a concert, or in a restaurant.

We look forward to welcoming you, your family and friends and hope you can join us for a bowl of porridge and other delightful foods. There is no charge for the breakast however we do request generous donations towards research into Parkinson disease. Tax receipts will be made available.
